Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Hazna Md Hasim paid a courtesy call on Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar at the latter's office at the secretariat on Sunday.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on various bilateral issues, especially the telecommunication sector, said a press release.
The minister hoped that Malaysia would utilise the opportunities for the investment-friendly policies of the government of Bangladesh and lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her contribution towards the betterment of the people and the development of the country.
The high commissioner praised the progress of various sectors of Bangladesh.
He highlighted various initiatives in the socio-social services of the country, including the establishment of a hospital in Cox's Bazar and Malaysia's investment in the telecommunications sector.
Later, newly joined Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman and Additional Secretary AKM Amirul Islam paid a courtesy call on the minister Mustafa Jabbar at his office.
Jabbar congratulated the newly inducted secretary and additional secretary and gifted them 12 books written by him, the release added.
