BGB Seizes Gold Bars Worth Tk 2.6 Cr from Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh on Tuesday seized six gold bars worth Tk 2.6 crore at Daulatpur border area in Benapole, reports UNB.

Lt. Col. Tanvir Rahman, commander of the Khulna BGB-21 battalion, said they launched a drive being tipped-off that a man was smuggling the gold bars to India through the border.

The smuggler fled to India crossing the Ichamati River leaving behind the gold bars, said the BGB official.
