29 Muggers Arrested in Capital

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-2 arrested 29 muggers along with locally made weapons while preparing for mugging in several areas of the capital on Thursday, reports UNB.

According to a RAB media release, tipped-off several teams of the elite force conducted drives in the capital’s Mohammadpur, Hazaribagh, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, and Tejgaon areas on Thursday.

A total of 29 muggers were arrested with local weapons including knives from the areas while they were preparing for snatching, it reads.

During primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted that they were members of an organised mugging gang and divided into several groups to commit mugging, the release said.
