Blast in Gulistan Building Leaves 4 Dead, over 40 Injured

At least four people were killed and over 40 others injured in an explosion in a 5-storey building in the capital's Gulistan area on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately, said Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The explosion occurred around 4:50pm.

On information, eleven units of fire service rushed to spot and are conducting rescue operations, he added.

The fire fighters recovered four bodies from the spot and rescued eight injured people, said the officer.
