Bangabazar to Be Redecorated: Mayor Taposh

Dhaka South City Corporation (DNCC) Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said that the capital's Bangabazar will be redecorated.

He said this in response to questions from journalists after visiting the National Eidgah on Thursday afternoon.

Mayor Taposh said that there is more work to be done on the plan to build a 10-story building in Bangbazar. I will sit with the businessmen. The Prime Minister will have some guidelines. The old plan may not exist. Bangabazar will be redecorated.

On April 4, a terrible fire broke out in Bangabazar market. The fire was brought under control after about 6 hours, but it took 75 hours to extinguish them completely. In this incident, four markets of Bangbazar were burnt completely and three markets partially. According to the Bangabazar Complex Shop Owners Association, 3,845 traders have been affected by the fire.
