Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that cattle market, animal carts and rain will be associated with the upcoming (Qurbani) Eid-ul-Adha journey. So Eid-ul-Azha is more challenging than Eid-ul-Fitr. For that purpose, preparations should be taken from now.

He said this in an exchange meeting with the officials of Bridge Department and Bangladesh Bridge Authority at  Setu Bhaba in the capital on Wednesday.

At this time, Obaidul Quader has instructed the concerned people to take out preparations from now to make the Eid journey of people comfortable and smooth in this year's Eid-ul-Azha like the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said that the return journey to work place after the Eid holiday has been comfortable so far. But accidents did not decrease. So many bridges, so many roads have been constructed, still positive progress is not being made that way. But we are not giving up hope. Although the task is challenging, it is possible to overcome it.

The bridges minister said that this year's Eid was a collective effort, the road was also good. That's why the Eid trip has been comfortable. Traffic jams are not as bad as they used to be in the past. Especially in the BRT project area, the traffic congestion that was feared, did not happen. We were able to celebrate Eid without much traffic jam. This trend should be made more positive in the coming days. We should have learn from mistakes.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel under the Karnaphuli river in Chattogram by September, Obaidul Quader said.
