EC Cancels Transfer, Leave for Its Staff until City Polls

The Election Commission has cancelled transfer and leave for all of its staff until the five city corporation elections.

A letter signed by EC’s election managing wing deputy secretary Md Atiar Rahman was sent to the secretary of cabinet division regarding the directions on April 27.

The letter was published in the website of the EC on Saturday (April 29).

According to the notice, no official involved in the election process can be transferred since the announcement of the schedule until 15 days into the announcement of the results without Election Commission's permission.

The notification also said that a number of officials/employees from government, autonomous and private organisations will be appointed as presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers to properly conduct the election-related activities.
