Rains Likely to Drench Dhaka, Other Places

Bangladesh Meteorological Department BMD) has predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers across the country in 24 hours from 9 am on Saturday as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh, reports UNB.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country”, it said.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated trough extends up to North Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
