PM Urges to Readjust Construction Material Prices in Dev Projects

Since the cost of cement, rods, and other construction materials have increased, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (18 July) instructed the relevant agencies to revise the rates.

According to Planning Minister MA Mannan, the instruction was given during a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) that was presided over by the PM. 

Fifteen projects totaling Tk18,010.12 crore were approved during the meeting. 

The Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources has approved the Barapukuria-Bogura-Kaliakoir 400 KV line project, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has approved the second phase of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Film City, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved the Sylhet Medical University (SMU) project. 

The Ecnec meeting took place at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar neighborhood of the city at the NEC conference room.
