Six killed, three injured in Sylhet road accident

On Thursday (20 July) at least six people were killed and three were injured in a head-on collision between a microbus and CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Sylhet-Bholaganj Road at Salutikor under Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet district.

One of the deceased is Kazi Amir Uddin, a teacher of Anwar High School and College, while identities of the other deceased could not be known immediately.

Meanwhile KM Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station, said the accident occurred at about 8:30am when the microbus hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw and both the vehicles fell into the road side ditch, leaving five people dead on the spot and four others injured.

Of the injured, one died on the way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
