China Wants Stronger Relations with Bangladesh

China has placed a major emphasis on improving people-to-people ties between Beijing and Dhaka in order to foster mutual learning and progress toward shared prosperity and development.

The Chinese government invited a ten-person media team, which arrived in Xinjiang on Thursday evening, to interact with the locals from all walks of life as well as the officials in order to promote deeper camaraderie between the two sides and aid in mutual understanding.

An official here stated that "journalists play a vital role in telling the truth to the world," adding that it is now very simple and convenient to travel to China and exchange knowledge with others.

Following the recovery from COVID-19, all travel-related restrictions have been abolished in China.

On Thursday night, the Bangladeshi media delegation went to the Xinjiang Museum.

Every day, this museum welcomes about 10,000 people from throughout the globe. However, the majority of tourists are from within the country, a museum official said.

The museum's extension area totals more than 12,000 square meters, bringing the museum's total space to close to 50,000 square meters. It is situated in Urumqi, the regional capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The renovated museum is expected to receive 2 million visitors every year.

The media delegation members are Daily Jugantor Chief Reporter Masud Karim, The Business Standard Deputy Editor Titu Das Gupta, The Financial Express Special Correspondent Mir Mostafizur Rahaman, The Daily Star Diplomatic Correspondent Porimol Palma, UNB Special Correspondent AKM Moinuddin, Independent TV Special Correspondent Nafiza Dawla, ATN News Chief Reporter Ashiqur Rahman Apu, Daily Samokal Diplomatic Correspondent Tasnim Mohsin Mishu, Jamuna TV Senior Reporter Ahmed Reza and Somoy TV Diplomatic Correspondent Tajwar Mahmid.

The media delegation will learn about the real Xinjiang during this visit from a variety of angles, including religious policy, ethnic equality and unity, educational advancement, traditional cultural preservation and transmission, health care advancement, rural revitalization, literary and artistic production, protection of women's and children's rights, and legal system assurance of human rights.

The Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, stated before leaving Dhaka that the two countries' cordial ties and practical cooperation have produced positive results.

"By recording and spreading the stories of China-Bangladesh friendship by pens and cameras, the press have always played a key role in promoting our bilateral relations and people-to-people exchanges," he said.

The embassy hoped that Bangladeshi media would take the initiative to persuade friends from all walks of life in Bangladesh to collaborate with the embassy to unearth and share more heartwarming tales of friendship between China and Bangladesh. This would help to strengthen the understanding and friendship between the two nations and their peoples.

The embassy promptly invited representatives of regional media outlets to visit China after the Covid situation improved.

“The charm of the "Colorful Yunnan" was felt all across the country,” said Ambassador Yao.

Prior to this, a different group from Yunnan, China, engaged in extensive discussions with representatives from the government, the media, and universities.

In order to personally experience the accomplishments of ecological civilization construction and rural rejuvenation in Yunnan Province, they traveled to industries with local peculiarities, sites of Belt and Road cooperation, and places with ethnic and cultural legacies.

“You will be indulged with the mysterious Xinjiang,” said Yao.

They would enhance knowledge of the profound spirit that currently sits at the center of the Belt and Road Initiative while also enhancing appreciation for the elegance of the historic Silk Road, he said.

In the future, the embassy will make it easier for more press friends to travel to China and experience the unending vitality of Chinese modernization, according to Ambassador Yao.
