The Rampal thermal power plant in Bagerhat, which runs on coal, is now producing electricity again after being shut down for four days owing to technical issues.

After the turbine machine for generating power was repaired, production began on Thursday afternoon.

The national grid receives the electricity generated.

On Sunday, July 16, the power plant was previously shut down because of a malfunctioning turbine.

Syed Ekram Ullah, managing director of Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL), confirmed the information.

Following its December 17th commissioning, the Rampal thermal power plant was shut down five times in the following seven months. The power plant was shut down for the first time after production began on January 14, again on April 15, again on April 23, then again on June 30, and finally on July 16.

The Rampal power plant, which was jointly sponsored by Bangladesh and India, has a 1320 MW total power output capacity, according to the power station. There are two units in the power plant. A total of 660 MW of electricity can be produced by each unit.
