Today is the birthday of Sajeeb Wazed Joy

Today on Thursday (27 July) is the 53rd birthday of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the Grand son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the son of The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as well as he is the advisor to Prime Minister on Information and Communication Technology Ministry. 

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, who as hero behind the creation of digital Bangladesh as well as the architect of the revolution in information and communication technology, was born on this day in 1971 during the liberation war. After the independence of the country, he was named by his Grand Father (Nana) Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, a hardworking, talented and clean living computer scientist, is working to realize the dreams of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his privileged daughter Sheikh Hasina and to establish Digital Bangladesh.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established Geo-satellite Center in Betbunia in 1975. Following this, Sajeeb Wazed Joy was determined to bring victory for the nation and hence succeeded of throwing satellites into space.

Earlier, Joy was in Germany with her mother and father when Bangabandhu's family was killed on August 15, 1975. Later he left for political asylum with his mother in India. He spent his childhood and adolescence in India. After studying at St. Joseph's College, Nainital there, he graduated in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, USA. Later he earned a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University. 

Sajeeb Wazed Joy married Christine Overmyer on 26 October 2002 and this couple have a daughter.

As part of the interest in politics while studying, Joy joined active politics On February 25, 2010. And he was given the position of primary member of Rangpur district Awami League and through which he officially entered into the politics.

Joy is currently serving as Information and Communication Technology Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In 2007, Joy was selected as a Global Leader of the World by the World Economic Forum.

Earlier in the national election of December 29, 2008, Awami League enlisted the issue of digital Bangladesh in its manifesto. 

Behind the scenes, this information technology expert revolutionized the information technology in the entire country by the side of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Currently, apart from the party genre, Joy is playing an important role in the development of information technology. Also to build young entrepreneurs by participating in various programs related to information technology, politics, social, economic, education, he has outstanding contribution.
