Two Dead in Bus-Car Collision in Khulna

A head-on accident between a passenger bus and a private automobile in the district's Dumuria upazila today resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman.

Dumuria Fire Station in-charge Sardar Shariful Islam confirmed the matter to saying that, "Twenty one people suffered injuries in the accident and were taken to Dumuria Upazilla Health Complex and Khulna Medical College."

Police were unable to quickly identify the victims, though.

Locals and police officers said that after striking the private vehicle, the speeding passenger bus lost control of its wheels and fell into a roadside ditch.

Officials from the fire department verified that the victims were inside the bus and passed away immediately.
