Chattogram-10 By-poll: AL’s Bachchu Wins amid Low Turnout

Mohiuddin Bachchu, the Awami League nominee, received 52,923 votes in the Sunday by-election for Chattogram-10, which was conducted using the boat symbol.

Only 11.70 percent of people showed up.

At 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, regional election officer Md Hasanuzzaman revealed the results at the city's gymnasium auditorium.

Mohiuddin Bachchu's nearest rival Md Shamsul Alam (plough) got 1,572 votes, Trinamul BNP's candidate Deepak Kumar Palit (Golden Fiber) got 1,230 votes, Bangladesh Sangskritik Mukti Jote candidate Rashid Mia got 579 votes, independent candidate Md Arman Ali (balloon) got 480 votes and Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan (rocket symbol) got 369 votes.

According to the results of 156 voting locations, Mohiuddin Bachchu, the candidate with the boat emblem, was elected MP with the most number of votes.

On Sunday, voting started at 8 am and went until 4 pm. There are 4,88,633 voters in the district as a whole. Male voters make up 2,48,929 of them, while female voters make up 2,39,680.
