Two Dead in Gazipur Road Accident

According to police, a car collision on Friday at Konabari, Gazipur, on the Dhaka-Tangail highway resulted in two fatalities and eight injuries.

The deceased's identities were not immediately revealed.

According to Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Abul Kashem of Konabari Police Station, the passengers were traveling from Kashimpur to Nikli Haor in Kishoreganj in a microbus at approximately 6am on Friday. A tyre ruptured on the microbus as it approached the Baimail area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, causing it to lose control and crash into a covered vehicle parked at the side of the road before hitting the road divider.

Ten persons, including the car's driver, suffered injuries. They were sent to Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Memorial Hospital and Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital after the accident.

Two of the injured were pronounced dead by doctors. SI Kashem stated that two of their bodies were at the two hospitals, and the injured were receiving medical attention.
