Richard Nephew, the global anti-corruption coordinator for the Department of State, will be in Dhaka tonight to discuss anti-corruption initiatives.

As part of his trip of the South Asian area, he will go to Bangladesh.

He will meet with the head of the anti-corruption commission, the foreign secretary, and representatives of non-governmental organizations involved in the fight against corruption, according to a foreign ministry official.

On Tuesday, he is expected to depart from Dhaka.

Anthony Blinken, the US secretary of state, nominated him as the State Department's coordinator for global anti-corruption on July 5. Directly answering to the US Secretary of State is Richard Nephew.

Nephew seeks to fight corruption in US international aid and diplomacy. He collaborates with NGOs and governments in partner nations all around the world to fight corruption.

Nephew worked as a senior fellow at the Center for Global Energy Policy at Columbia University prior to entering the State Department.
