Due to the constant rain and onslaught of water from the hills, two portions of the Muhuri river embankment in the Fulgazi upazila of Feni have collapsed, flooding six villages.
Uttar Boroiya, Bijaypur, Dakkhin Boroiya, Uttar Daulatpur, Dakkhin Daulatpur, and Sahapara are the inundated villages.
"Currently, water of the Muhuri river is flowing 100 cm above danger level. Necessary steps will be taken after the water recedes," said Arifur Rahman, deputy divisional executive engineer of the Water Development Board on Monday.
Upazila project implementation officer Md Masud said, "Dry foods are distributing among the affected people. Shelters are ready. Local representatives have been asked to help the flood affected people."
