Anisul Huq, Minister of legislation, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, stated on Tuesday that the proposed Cyber Security Act's penalties have been reduced and that attempts would be made to resolve cases brought under the previous Digital Security Act in accordance with the requirements of the new legislation.

After speaking with Gwen Lewis, the UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, in the Secretariat, the minister made this statement to media.

When questioned about the attorney general's claim that the Digital Security Act's legal actions will go forward, the law minister said, "We are carefully reviewing our alternatives. Violations committed before the new legislation went into effect will still be governed by the old judicial system.

But we are thinking about the best course of action. The number of sanctions has significantly decreased as a result of this law's modifications. We are dedicated to making sure that these revised procedures are implemented successfully," he stated.
