Mother, Daughter Killed in Bagerhat

In Bagerhat's Sharankhola upazila on Friday, a 38-year-old lady and her daughter were reportedly hacked to death by several criminals.

Abu Zafar Hawladar, an inhabitant of the hamlet of Uttar Rajapur, was married to Papia Begum. Sauda Jeni, her daughter, was six years old.

On Friday at approximately 7 o'clock, the tragedy occurred in the hamlet of Uttar Rajapur in the Rayenda union of the upazila.

Locals claim that a group of miscreants broke into the woman's home and killed Jeni there and then by hacking them with sharp objects. Papia was taken by ambulance to Sharankhola Health Complex, where medical staff immediately pronounced her dead.

According to information, the bodies were found by the police, according to Md. Ekram Hossain, the Sharankhola police station's officer-in-charge (OC). The OC said, "We reached out to the victims' families and are looking into the murder."
