The National Identity Card (NID) server service of Election Commission (EC) has resumed after being closed since morning. Later Wednesday (August 16) at 1:20 PM. according to Election Commission sources, the service is resumed. While it was temporarily closed for some maintenance work, the source said.

About 12 crore citizens of the country have various personal information in NID server. As this service was stopped for a few hours, the common people suffered when they came to correct the NID.

Earlier, Election Commission Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath told the media that a technical team is working with the server to assess the risk of cyber attack. The server was shut down for the time being. Restarted within an hour.

A source also ensured that there is no sign of hacking the website. The technical team is working to look into all aspects.
