Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared today that her government wants the country to keep moving forward in terms of wealth and development.

We want the nation's continued journey towards development, despite the fact that Bangladesh is dealing with natural and man-made disasters like arson terrorism, she said as she cut the ribbon on the newly constructed 13-story Information Commission Bhaban and 15-story Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Bhaban.

While participating in the event virtually from her official Ganabhaban residence here, she also laid the cornerstone for the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) Complex.

The country has been governed by a democratic administration with a stable situation since 2009, according to the prime minister, and Bangladesh is heading towards prosperity despite all the challenges.

I want to thank my compatriots for continuing to support the boat and giving me the opportunity to serve them, she added.

She said that her administration is slavishly pursuing its goal of transforming Bangladesh into a Smart Bangladesh by 2041 after transforming the nation into a Digital Bangladesh in line with their 2008 election platform.

On one acre of land, the striking BTRC Bhaban and on 0.35 acres, the Information Commission Bhaban, were built.

The premier said, "Whenever we take any development initiative, we find that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had given its foundation. Today's Bangladesh is approaching towards development depending on the foundation built by Bangabandhu."

She said she is feeling very happy as she has been able to work for the welfare of Bangladesh and its people following the footprints of the Father of the Nation.

The event was tied to the BTRC Bhaban, Information Commission Bhaban, and BFDC complex.

Ministers of Information and Broadcasting Dr. Hasan Mahmud and of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar also participated in the discussion, which was chaired by Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin.

On this occasion, an audio-video documentary on the recently built BTRC and Information Commission bhabans and the BFDC Complex was screened.
