Rohingya Man Killed at Kutupalong Camp

An alleged member of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army shot and murdered a Rohingya youngster on Tuesday night in the Kutupalong camp in the Ukhiya upazila of the Cox's Bazar district.

Mohammad Yunus, a camp inmate and the 18-year-old son of Hamid Hossain, was recognized as the deceased.

The Ukhiya Police Station's officer in charge, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, said that ARSA militants shot Yunus on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. after accusing him of belonging to the Rohingya Solidarity Organization. Yunus had been hurt.

Yunus died on the way to the Sadar Hospital.

Police are trying to arrest the criminals, who went into hiding after the incident.

Additional police have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
