China assured Bangladesh of assistance to become a member of BRICS

A bilateral meeting was held between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The country's president has assured that China will cooperate regarding this matter as Bangladesh be able to receive the BRICS membership easily. The meeting took place at Hotel Hilton Sandton on the sidelines of the 15th BRICS summit yesterday evening (August 23).

Minister of Foreign Affairs AK Abdul Momen, Prime Minister's Adviser on Private Industry and Investment Salman Fazlur Rahman, Prime Minister's daughter and Climate Vulnerable Forum's Thematic Ambassador and Autism and Neuro Developmental Disorders National Advisory Committee Chairperson Saima Wazed, Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Md. Tofazzal Hossain Mia and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Masud Bin Momen were present in the meeting. 

Later on after completion of the meeting, the Foreign Minister said in a video message that the meeting of our Prime Minister with the President of China was held in a very friendly and sincere atmosphere. The president of the country has assured us that China will cooperate with Bangladesh so that it can become a member of BRICS.

On the other hand also our Prime Minister urged China to buy products from Bangladesh to reduce the huge trade deficit between the two countries. He added that the Prime Minister asked for assistance so that more students from Bangladesh can easily go to China for studies.
