US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken claims that the US is still committed to seeking justice and responsibility for all inhabitants of Myanmar.

In a statement honoring the sixth anniversary of the "Genocide" against the Rohingya, he said the US will continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Myanmar in their dreams for a "democratic, inclusive, and peaceful" future.

On August 25, the sixth anniversary of the genocide against the Rohingya, the United States declared its solidarity with the victims and survivors.

Blinken reaffirmed their commitment to pursue justice and accountability for the atrocities committed by the Myanmar military.

"We are deeply grateful to the Government and the people of Bangladesh for giving shelter and refuge to nearly one million Rohingya, as well as other countries in the region hosting Rohingya refugees," he said.

The United States continues to be the greatest single provider of life-saving humanitarian aid to individuals whose lives have been upended by the violence, having contributed more than $2.1 billion to help those affected by the crisis in Myanmar, Bangladesh, and other countries in the region since 2017.

Particularly for members of ethnic and religious minority populations, such as Rohingya, the poor humanitarian situation has been made worse by the country's widespread escalation of violence.

According to the US Department of State, sanctions and travel restrictions have been placed on the people and organizations most responsible for the ongoing violence since December 2017.
