A major area of Chattogram City was underwater on Sunday morning as a result of the excessive rain.

People from all walks of life suffered greatly when the areas of Chawkbazar, Bahaddarhat, Badurtola, Muradpur, Gate No-2, Chandgoan, and Bakalia were submerged.

Exams for the Higher Secondary Certificate that had been postponed began on Sunday for the Chattogram board, the madrassah board, and the technical education board.

The three boards' exams were postponed from August 17 to August 27 owing to floods in five Chattogram division districts.

HSC Examinee Nusrat Sultana said she had to walk three kilometres to reach the examination centre at Kapasgola City Corporation College.

The unexpected flood caused the HSC candidates a great deal of grief because it submerged numerous places in and around Chattogram city and blocked the highways with public transportation.

After the exam began, several applicants arrived at their exam sites.

According to Chattogram Education Board controller Professor Narayan Chandra Nath, HSC test centers in Chattogram municipality began the day's exam at 11:00am instead of 10:00am.

Additionally, exam centers in the district's other flood-affected districts had been instructed to begin the exam at 11:00am, he continued.
