Elderly Man Dead in Road Crash in Pallabi

An elderly man was struck and murdered by a CNG-powered autorickshaw on Monday night in the Pallabi district of the city.

The deceased was identified as Ibne Ali, 67.

The event was declared official by the police on Tuesday morning.

The victim's son, Mohammad Raju, said that when his father crossed a roadway in front of Kalapani Garments in Mirpur-12, he was struck by a CNG-powered autorickshaw moving at a high rate of speed. He was severely injured.

His injuries became fatal when he was receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after family members rushed him there.

According to DMCH Police station in-charge Md Bachhu Miah, who cited the hospital's on-duty physicians, the family requested that the corpse be sent to them without being examined by a pathologist.
