DMP Arranges Strict Security for Janmashtami Procession

The annual Hindu holiday of Janmashtami, which commemorates the birth of Krishna, will be celebrated peacefully and smoothly on September 6 thanks to strict security measures put in place by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

"We'll take every precaution for safety. According to DMP Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq, police would ensure that every religious gathering is as secure as possible while adhering to the motto "Religion for Individual, Festivals for All."

At the DMP headquarters, a meeting to coordinate security and traffic for the Janmashtami march was conducted under the chairmanship of commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq.

The DMP commissioner requested all to inform police if there is any security information centering the festival.

Greeting Sanatan religious leaders in the meeting, he said the important coordination meeting was held to ensure security arrangement.

"This is an election year so the opposition parties are now on the movement. The DMP will be on high alert to ensure peacefully celebration of Janmashtami," Faruq added.

Assuring full cooperation in the upcoming Janmashtami festival and procession, he said that DMP's cyber police will monitor the festival round-the-clock so that none can spread propaganda in the cyber world.

The commissioner requested all to cooperate police with providing information to protect keep law and order under control.

Biplob Kumar Sarkar, Joint Commissioner (operations) of DMP, presented a presentation on the security measures implemented by DMP during the Janmashtami procession at the start of the meeting.

The gathering demanded the installation of top-notch CCTV cameras at each temple during processions and the deployment of a sufficient number of volunteers wearing the required attire or carrying ID cards that could be seen.

Additionally, it was implied that there would be no gaps in procession, no one would be allowed to carry luggage, and music would cease throughout the Azan and Namaz.
