College Girl Commits Suicide in Cox’s Bazar

Police in the Sadar upazila of Cox's Bazar region found the hanging body of a young college student in her residence on Tuesday afternoon.

Tonni Chowdhury, 20, the daughter of Nepal Chowdhury, who resided in the municipality's Baiddoghonai area, was identified as the deceased. She was an 11th grader at Cox's Bazar City College.

Tonni was allegedly living alone in the house since her parents were both at work, according to the deceased's family members. Tuesday afternoon, the victim's mother made many unsuccessful attempts to reach the victim on her mobile phone. She then asked her neighbors to investigate the matter.

When neighbors visited the residence, they discovered her hanging from her room's ceiling fan. They called the cops right away.

"After receiving information, police removed the corpse from the scene and transported it to the mortuary of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy. The cause of the death was first suspected to be a suicide, but an autopsy will reveal the true cause, according to Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station.

According to the OC, a case of unnatural death was reported in this case, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of death.
