SPARRSO Chairman Abdus Samad Transferred amid Criticism

The Ministry of Public Administration has transferred Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARSO) Chairman Md. Abdus Samad to the parliament secretariat as an additional secretary.

The ministry issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday, according to local news portals.

Md. Abdus Samad joined SPARSO as its chairman on July 26 last year. He completed a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a master’s degree in development studies.

After the recent launch of a spacecraft to the moon by India’s space research body, the SPARSO chairman’s educational background came into the limelight. The government faced criticism for appointing an official without knowledge of the relevant field.
