3 Alleged Members of New Militant Outfit Arrested

The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of the police has detected a new militant outfit named Tawhidul Uluhiyah (Al Jihadi). ATU has arrested three top leaders of the group in a special operation.

Today (Saturday, 16 September) in a press conference at the ATU office, the head of the organization, Md. Alim Mahmud gave this information.

The arrested are Md Jewel Mollah (29), Md Rahul Hossain (21), and Md Gaziul Islam (40).

The head of ATU said that this group made its debut four months ago. From September 13 to 16, three militants were caught in a series of raids in the northern, southern, and Dhaka metropolitan areas of the country.

The top leaders of this organization were associated with some old militant outfits. They were gathering members by motivating the youth by giving speeches on Facebook and YouTube.

Md. Alim Mahmud said this new militant outfit wanted to destabilize the country by creating fear in people's minds. But efforts are being made to find out who their financiers are.
