Trains To Ply Dhaka-Pabna Route From Sept

Direct intercity train service from Pabna to Dhaka will launch in September. Pabna-Dhaka direct train service will be inaugurated on any date between 24 and 30 September.

Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad confirmed this information to the media.

Pakshi Railway Divisional Transport Office sources said that this train will ply from Pabna via Bangabandhu Bridge. It will leave Pabna station at 8:15 a.m. and reach Kamalpur railway station at 2:15 p.m. According to the demand, 12 to 14 passenger coaches will be attached to this train. Like other intercity trains, there will be  Shovon (comfortable) chairs, AC chairs, and cabins.

According to the sources of the Western Railway office, the train will start plying within this month. However, at which station the train will stop and how much the ticket will cost, has not been decided yet. It is said that instructions will be given from the Western Railway Department within two days.

The railway department started working on the matter after the President announced the Pabna-Dhaka direct train service. All the formalities are at the final stage. The name of the train and the date of inauguration are yet to be decided. Hon'ble President or Hon'ble Prime Minister will inaugurate the Pabna-Dhaka train.

Pakshi Divisional Railway Transport Officer Anwar Hossain said that the new intercity train will start running on the Pabna-Dhaka route in the last week of this month. The name of the train has not been decided yet. At which station the train will stop has not been decided yet.

In this regard, Pakshi Divisional Railway Engineer (DN-2) Birbal Mandal said that all preparations have started to ply new trains on the Dhaka-Pabna route. The train service will start on any day of the last week of this month. Pakshi Divisional Railway employees and officials are now spending busy time completing all preparations for the Pabna-Dhaka train service.

Pakshi Divisional Railway Assistant Commercial Officer (North) AKM Nurul Alam said we have come to know from the Western Railway Office, Rajshahi that the train movement will start within this month. However, at which station the train will stop and how much the ticket will cost has not been decided yet. I hope to get instructions on these issues from the Western Railway Department within two days.
