NID Server Fully Operational Now

The server of NID, one of the essential and most important documents of Bangladeshi citizens, was down for the past two days. The service aspirants were in extreme trouble. However, all services related to NID have been fully operational since Thursday (September 21) morning.

It is known that this server, which was closed on Tuesday (September 19) morning, could not be fully started on Wednesday. However, since Wednesday morning, the servers for the partner services (service providers) were running, so they were able to provid services. The server is fully operational from today Thursday (21 September) morning.

Those concerned say that the server for partner services could be started from Wednesday morning, but the activities related to voter registration and NID correction or transfer could not be started till night. Later this morning it was started.

The National Identity Registration Department shut down the NID server suddenly on Tuesday morning citing maintenance reasons. As a result, services were disrupted in 174 institutions including financial institutions like banks and insurance. NID correction and transfer aspirants suffered the most. Before this the server of NID was down for about 38 hours from 12:00 PM on August 14.
