4 Killed By Electrocution In Mirpur

A total of four people, including three members of the same family and one who went to rescue them, were electrocuted in Mirpur.

In this incident, 5 more people were injured due to electrocution. The injured are being treated at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.

The incident took place on the opposite side of Sirazia Islamia Madrasa Haji Road Jhilpar Basti of Mirpur Model Police Station on Thursday night (September 21).

According to the sources, heavy rain caused flooding in the area. Five people were seriously injured due to electrocution when the electric wire was torn and plunged into the water. Locals rescued the injured in critical condition and sent them to Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital. At the same time 4 people died in the same incident

The deceased are - Md. Mizan (30), his wife Mukta Begum (25), daughter Lima (7) and Mohammad Anik (20). Mizan's son, Hossain (7 months) was injured and first admitted to Suhrawardy Hospital and then to Shishu Hospital.

It is reported that the incident took place after the electric wire was snapped on the side of the road in the Dhaka Commerce College area of Mirpur.

Ershad, the duty officer of the control room of the fire service, said that around 10:30 last night, news came that four people were electrocuted in the Dhaka Commerce College area. They were rescued from the spot and sent to the hospital.

In this regard, the duty officer of Mirpur Model Police Station, Sub-Inspector Ruhul Amin told the media that the Government Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College called us and informed us that four people died due to electrocution.

According to local sources, it rained heavily in different areas of the capital since yesterday evening. This rainfall occurs in some areas from 10 pm to 11 pm. As a result, waterlogging occurred in the Haji Road area. Electric cables were snapped by the standing water on the road. Four people were electrocuted and killed.
