Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) spokesperson Faruk Hossain said that the US visa curbs will not have any effect on the Bangladesh Police Force.

He told this to reporters at DMP's media office on Sunday (September 24) at noon.

He said that an application has been made regarding some members of the law enforcement agencies to curb the US visa. I don't know who they are. If the visa curbs come they may not be able to travel the country (USA).

The DMP spokesperson said that the police work within the law.

The United States announced a new visa policy for Bangladeshis on May 24. It said it will be applied to those who obstruct the democratic process and fair elections. Its implementation began last Friday (September 22).

It has been carried out against government and opposition parties, former and current government officials, members of law enforcement, the judiciary, and members of the security services, a State Department spokesperson said in a statement. It may also include their family members.
