Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun believes that the visa curbs of the United States will not cause an image crisis for the police.

He said this in response to questions from the media after a function organized at the tourist police headquarters in Purana Paltan in the capital on Monday (September 25) at noon.

Illegal weapons are displayed during various conflicts but the police are not very active in recovering the arms. Asked if these incidents will have any impact on the national polls, he said, whenever there is a display of arms, we act. Whoever has the arms we try and we do it with the utmost effort to recover it. We strongly believe that we will be able to perform our duties properly during the national election.

When asked whether the police have any special operation planned to recover arms, he said, "We will do it in due course. I don't want to say it now for strategic reasons."

Bhuban Chandra Sheel, who was shot by miscreants in Tejgaon, died this morning. Earlier, the police were arrested in connection with the robbery. When asked about the situation in the upcoming election, the IGP said that we take immediate action if any incident occurs. We do not exempt any of our members involved in this. We are taking appropriate action after investigating any incident.

The conflict between terrorists is increasing. Common people lost their lives on the streets. When asked in which direction the law and order situation is going, he said that the law and order situation is completely under control. Whenever any incident occurs, we investigate it and take appropriate action.

When asked whether there is a level playing field for the polls now, Abdullah Al-Mamun said, "The election ins coming near, the election commission is responsible for organizing the polls. We will properly fulfill the responsibility that the Election Commission will give us during the election."
