A tragic incident unfolded at the Thakurpur border of Damurhuda Upazila in Chuadanga as Rabirul, a 45-year-old Bangladeshi national, lost his life due to BSF (Border Security Force) firing while attempting to trespass  into India.

The incident occurred inside India at the Thakurpur border on Wednesday, September 27, around noon. Rabirul hailed from Pirpurkulla village and was the son of Moitulla.

According to Abdul Karim Biswas, Chairman of Karpasdanga Union Parishad, residents of Pirpurkulla reported that Rabirul and several others had infiltrated into India the previous Wednesday evening. Their purpose was to acquire cattle from Rangiarpota village in India. While returning with the cattle at approximately 12:00 pm, as they reached Main Pillar No. 88/92 of the Thakurpur border, they encountered a BSF patrol team from the Indian border guarding force. Tragically, the BSF personnel opened fire on the group, resulting in Rabirul's immediate demise. His companions managed to escape back to Bangladesh. Rabirul's body is currently at Krishnanagar Mahakuma Hospital in West Bengal, India.

Alamgir Hossain, the Officer-in-Charge of Damurhuda Model Police Station, confirmed that they have received reports of Robirul from Pirpurkulla village being missing.

According to an Indian source, BSF member Anand Singh Chauhan transported Rabirul's body to Krishnanagar Mahakuma Hospital in West Bengal, India, at 1 am.

Lieutenant Colonel Syed Mohammad Zahidur Rahman, the commander of Chuadanga-6 BGB Battalion, stated that they have received information about the shooting of a Bangladeshi national at the Thakurpur border. To verify the details, a flag meeting with the Indian BSF has been arranged. Further information will be obtained after the meeting.

It is worth noting that on the night of September 13, another Bangladeshi national named Mizanur Rahman was killed by BSF firing while attempting to infiltrate India at the Benipur border in Jibannagar Upazila of Chuadanga district.
