International Veteran's Day Being Observed In The Country

Today, October 1, is the 33^rd International Veteran's Day. On the occasion of celebrating the day, the Directorate of Social Services under the Ministry of Social Welfare has taken various initiatives.

On this occasion, rallies, discussion meetings, publication of special circulars in national newspapers, sending of short messages through mobile operators, scroll promotion in electronic media, mass promotion through social media have been taken.

On the occasion of Veteran's Day, the Minister of Social Welfare Ministry, Bir Muktijoddha Nuruzzaman Ahmad MP, will be present as the chief guest in the function organized at 10:30 am in the auditorium of Department of Social Services in Agargaon.

Minister of State for Social Welfare Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru, MP and President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Welfare Rashed Khan Menon, MP will be present as special guests. Former VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, eminent physician Dr. Pran Gopal Dutt, MP will be present as special guest and keynote speaker.

Chairman of Dhaka School of Economics, Dhaka University and eminent economist Dr. Kazi Khaliquzzaman Ahmad will be present as the guest of honor. Honorable Secretary of Ministry of Social Welfare Md. Jahangir Alam will preside over the event.
