5 WASA Workers Burnt in Gas Line Explosion

Five laborers sustained burn injuries in an explosion while excavating soil for a WASA pipeline in Namapara, a district of the capital city, this morning. The incident transpired around 6:45 a.m.

The individuals who suffered injuries are Mehedi Hasan (23), Siyam (20), Jewel (21), Mumin (22), and Delowar (24), all hailing from Bogura district. They have been hospitalized at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

According to Supervisor Anisur Rahman, who accompanied the workers to the hospital, a gas leak occurred from an underground Titas gas line while they were working.

The explosion took place when one of the laborers attempted to ignite a lighter, resulting in burns for everyone present at the site.
