Prime Minister Crossed the Bangabandhu Tunnel

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina passed the Bangabandhu Tunnel through the bottom of Karnaphuli after the inauguration. She reached Anwara in just three minutes. After passing through the tunnel, the head of government paid the toll with her own hands. At that time, toll collector Jhumur Akhtar took the money from the hands of the Prime Minister and gave the receipt to Sheikh Hasina.

The Prime Minister will unveil another plaque in the river at the Anwar end of the tunnel. Later, he will address the public meeting of Awami League at the Korean EPZ ground.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the tunnel at 12:15 on Saturday. He reached Chittagong a little before 11 o'clock today.

The country's first tunnel has been named after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh Bridge Authority is implementing this project. China Communications, Construction Company Limited (CCCCL) of China is working as the contractor.
