Garment Worker Killed In Clash With Police In Gazipur

A garment worker named Rashed Hawladar died in a clash between the workers and the police in Gazipur. Since then, the Gazipur industrial area has been very turbulent.

According to the workers and the police, a garment worker named Russel Howladar (26) was injured in a police attack at the Maliker Bari area of Bason police station in Gazipur city. When he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the doctor declared him dead. He worked as an electrician in Energypack Design Garments.

On Monday (October 30) around 3:30 p.m., he was brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and declared dead by the doctor on duty.

The deceased Russel's house is in Binayakandi village of Sadar police station of Jhalkathi district. He is the son of Hannan Howladar of that area.

Sufian, a colleague of the deceased, said that I and Russel Howladar both live in the same house and work in the same garment. I got the news - the police fired on the workers demanding salary allowances. It shot my colleague in the chest. Later, he was rescued with bullet wounds and first brought to Ahsanullah Master Medical College and Hospital in Tongi. From there, he was taken to Dhaka Medical Emergency Department for advanced treatment, where the doctor declared him dead.
