One More Remanded Over Murder Of Constable Pervej

A court here today placed a man on a two-day remand in a case lodged over the brutal killing of police constable Amirul Islam Pervej, 32, on October 28.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury passed the order as police produced accused Shahidullah before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day police remand.

Earlier on October 30, another court placed two people including Palashbari Swechasebak Dal convener Shamim on a seven-day remand in the case.

Police filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station against 164 people, making BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam the prime accused in the case.

Constable Pervej was brutally killed allegedly by the leaders and activists of BNP during their grand rally in the capital's Naya Paltan area on October 28.
