The High Court has granted six months bail to the expelled leader of Jubo Mahila League, Shamima Noor Papia, in the non-disclosure case.

On Wednesday (November 1) The High Court bench of Justice Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Muhammad Ali passed the order. As a result of this verdict, there is no obstacle to Papia's release, said ACC's lawyer.

In this case, there is an allegation against him of acquiring wealth of 6 crore 24 lakh 18 thousand Taka.

Lawyer Rabiul Alam Budu appeared for the bail application in the court, while senior lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan appeared for the ACC.

ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan confirmed the issue of bail and said, "The High Court has granted him six months' bail."

When asked whether there will be an appeal against this order, he said, "We have informed that an appeal will be filed if the decision is made by the ACC."

On August 4, 2020, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against the expelled leader of Jubo Mahila League Shamima Noor Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman alias Sumon Chowdhury alias Moti Sumon on the charge of acquiring wealth outside the known income of Tk 6 crore 24 lakh 18 thousand.
