Truck Hits Motorcycle In Escaton, 2 Killed

Two people were killed as an unidentified truck hit a motorcycle in Escaton area in Dhaka early Wednesday (November 8).

Names of the deceased could be known as Ariful Islam, 49, and Souvik Karim, 42. They were on a motorcycle when they met the fatal accident.

Hatirjheel police station duty-officer sub-inspector Sujan Dev said that the accident took place at about 12:15am.

He said that they came to know about the incident from the locals and the national emergency helpline number 999.

On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post mortem examination.

The police officer said that they could not immediately identify the truck that hit the motorcycle and fled the scene.

The victims died on the spot, he said, quoting eyewitnesses.
