A collision between a private car and a truck in Satkhira has resulted in the tragic death of an Indian engineer, Asim Kumar Biswas, aged 60, and his wife, Chobi Biswas, aged 49. The incident occurred today around 8:00 am in front of the 33 BGB camp main gate on the Satkhira-Khulna road.

The deceased couple are from Siliguri, West Bengal. The private car's driver, Md Rafiqul Islam Sajib, aged 30 and from the Khulna Dighalia area, sustained injuries in the accident. Asim Kumar Biswas, who worked as an engineer on the Khulna-Mongla rail line under construction, and his wife lived in Khulna. The couple was en route to the Bhomra landport in their private car with plans to travel to India on the same day.

Inspector Uttam Mitra from Satkhipra’s Katia outpost provided details about the incident, mentioning that the bodies were taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. According to Dr. Saiful Islam, an on-duty physician at the hospital, three individuals were brought to the emergency unit around 8:30 am. Unfortunately, two of them were already deceased, while the third is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
