Rajshahi Truck-Auto Rickshaw Collision: Death Toll Rises To 5

The death toll has climbed to 5 as another person was killed in a head-on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw at Puthia upazila in Rajshahi.

The accident took place in front of the Belpukur oil pump in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi around 3 pm on Saturday (November 25). 

The deceased are – Parin Begum, wife of Hasan Ali of Bakidebpur in Natore, Sharmin, a class-XI student of Shahmukdam College, Ayub Ali Labu, a resident of Natore, and Mokhlesur, an autorickshaw driver. The identity of another is yet to be available.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesperson Jamirul Islam said that a truck collided with an auto-rickshaw on the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway. Then the truck lost control and entered a shop. One person was killed on the spot. Five others were injured. Fire service members rescued them and took them to RMCH Hospital. The doctor declared three dead. Later, another person died while undergoing treatment.
