CEC Directs Officials To Prevent Rigging In Voting

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal directed the field-level administration to prevent any kinds of irregularities, rigging, and encroachment in the elections.

The CEC made the call while addressing a press briefing after a meeting in Jashore on Friday (December 22).

He said that the elections will be made free, fair, and peaceful at any cost. The law and order situation in the election field is good. Returning Officers will have to perform key duties to ensure smooth elections.

In reply to a question, he also said that the attacks that are happening at different places are being investigated. Appropriate action will be taken after receiving the investigation report.

A total of 290 officials from ten districts under Khulna Division and Dhaka Division’s Faridpur, Gopalganj, and Rajbari district DC, SP, UNO, BGB, and Ansar forces attended the meeting.
