A total of 15 ministers, 13 state ministers and 2 deputy ministers have not so far called to take oath for joining the Bangladesh new cabinet.

Cabinet secretary Mahbub Hossain on Wednesday (January 10) said that the division called 25 leaders to take oath as ministers and 11 others as state ministers.

The oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet members will be held at Bangabhaban at 7:00pm on Thursday.

With prime minister Sheikh Hasina, the country is going to get a 37-member new cabinet.

Before the announcement of the schedule for the 12th parliamentary election, the Awami League-led government had 47-member cabinet including 25 ministers, 19 state ministers and three deputy ministers.

The ministers of the outgoing cabinet who were not called include foreign minister AK Abdul Momen, agriculture minister Md Abdur Razzaque, finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, planning minister MA Mannan, commerce minister Tipu Munshi, health minister Zahid Maleque, textiles and jute affairs minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, social welfare minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, fisheries and livestock affairs minister SM Rezaul Karim, environment, forest and climate change affairs minister Md Md Shahab Uddin, Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing, land affairs minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, railways affairs minister Nurul Islam Sujon, expatriates' welfare and overseas employment affairs minister Imran Ahmed and technocrat minister for posts and telecommunications affairs Mustafa Jabbar.

Three of the state ministers of the outgoing cabinet-- state minister for cultural affairs KM Khalid, state minister for labour and employment Monnujan Sufian and state minister for primary and mass education Zakir Hossain – who did not get party nomination were not called to join the new cabinet.

Three other state ministers who got party nomination but lost in the January 7 election were also not called to join the new cabinet. They are state minister for civil aviation and tourism Md Mahbub Ali, state minister for rural development and cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharya and state minister for disaster management and relief Md Enamur Rahman.

The state ministers of the outgoing cabinet who were also not called to join the new cabinet include state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, state minister for youth and sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, state minister for social welfare Ashraf Ali Khan, state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam, state minister for housing and public works Sharif Ahmed, and state minister for women and children affairs Begum Fazilatun Nesa.

Technocrat state minister for Planning, Shamsul Alam, of the outgoing cabinet was also not called to join the new cabinet.

Besides, two deputy ministers of the outgoing cabinet who were not called include deputy minister for environment, forest and climate change Habibun Nahar and deputy minister for water resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim.
