Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that many countries initially made negative comments about the election in Bangladesh, but they finally realised that the process was completed smoothly and fairly.

Speaking to reporters on Monday (Jan 22), he highlighted that China consistently maintained the stance that the election is an internal matter for Bangladesh and refrained from making negative comments.

He said that the countries initially critical of the election and they later acknowledged its fair and smooth holding.

Asaduzzaman Khan also mentioned that China is set to provide advanced training to modernise Bangladesh's law-and-order forces, and the process has already started.

A list of people selected for training has been provided to China as part of the initiative to enhance cooperation and capabilities in the realm of law enforcement.
