EC Announces Schedule Of 233 Polls

The Election Commission has announced the schedule of 233 elections including Mymensingh City Corporation, Cumilla City Corporation by-elections and 5 municipal elections.

This date was announced by EC Secretary Jahangir Alam in a press conference at the Election Commission building today (Wednesday, January 24) at noon.

Jahangir Alam said that the deadline for submitting nominations in the city corporation elections is February 13, verification is on February 15, withdrawal of nominations is on February 22 and symbols will be allotted the next day on February 23. Voting will be held on March 9.

He said, on the instructions of Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal, voting will be conducted in EVMs in the general elections of City Corporation, Municipality and District Council. Remaining votes will be taken through ballot papers.
